In reflecting on my contributions to the EDLD-5318 course and the learning community, I believe a score of

95 out of 100 is a justified assessment of my efforts. Here’s why:

Key Contributions

What is Working The Math Station Mastery course has been designed with meticulous attention to detail, following the principles of professional development design for educators. The course's emphasis on math stations aims to foster increased student collaboration and engagement through cutting-edge teaching methods. The process included thorough research and the application of Fink’s 3-column goals to align learning outcomes, activities, and assessments. This alignment has proven effective in creating a significant and impactful learning experience.

What Can Be Improved While the course has received positive feedback, there’s always room for improvement. In future iterations, I plan to engage an even broader representation of stakeholders, including curriculum writers and department heads, to provide more discipline-specific feedback. Additionally, creating targeted sessions for teachers from different grade levels will help fine-tune the course’s adaptability across various educational levels.

Collaboration and Feedback I actively contributed to and helped build our core collaboration group. I consistently provided thoughtful feedback, fostering a supportive learning environment. For example, after receiving feedback that my course was hard to follow and seemed out of order, I made significant changes. I adjusted the stream settings and created a guiding video featuring Captain Starflare as the facilitator. This feedback integration has significantly improved the course’s organization and flow.

Revisions and Reflections The process of revising assignments based on feedback has been instrumental in my growth as a self-directed learner. For instance, the usability testing feedback revealed the need for better navigation and more engaging elements. In response, I added gamified elements and streamlined the course navigation. These changes have not only enhanced the user experience but also aligned the course more closely with its objectives.

Supporting Contributions

Leadership and Participation I took on leadership responsibility within my base group and the course. I actively participated in all activities, contributing to both my own learning and that of my colleagues. My postings in various course forums were timely, allowing others to engage with and respond to them. These postings reflected breadth and depth of thinking, often supported by research and cited using APA format.

Additional Contributions Beyond the required activities, I made additional postings to contribute to the learning community. These included sharing insights, asking thought-provoking questions, and offering encouragement. By doing so, I helped create a dynamic and engaging learning environment.

Final Reflections

Through careful design, thoughtful implementation, and rigorous usability testing, the Math Station Mastery course has evolved into a comprehensive and engaging professional development tool. The feedback received has been invaluable and continues to drive the course's evolution, creating a better learning environment for all. My commitment to continuous improvement, active participation, and thoughtful contributions justify a score of 95 out of 100.

Thank you for considering my self-assessment. I look forward to any further feedback to continue my growth as a self-directed, lifelong learner.
