In consideration of everything I've done and contributed to this class, I think a 92 out of 100 is a reasonable evaluation. All of the prerequisites have been met, and I have committed myself fully to enhancing my own and my classmates' educational experiences.
Key Contributions:
My commitment to improving professional learning drives my innovation plan, which addresses the critical belief that Professional Learning is Broken. Through my active engagement in workshops, peer collaborations, and reflective practices, I strived to contribute not only to my own growth but also to the collective improvement of our learning community. In communicating my Professional Learning Ideas I provided a robust and detailed plan that provides an effective alternate professional learning plan that breaks the traditional sit-and-get professional learning mold. Also, building and adding to our core collaboration group was one of the things I did well. I always gave thoughtful comments to my peers, which made the asynchronous classroom a good place to learn. I'm committed to continuous progress, as shown by my promise to revise assignments based on helpful feedback.
I've completed all the course readings, videos, and supporting resources, ensuring that I am well-prepared and informed for each class discussion and activity. I highlight my course readings, research, and supporting resources in my Professional Learning Is Broken interactive call to action. Additionally, I have consistently met all course activity deadlines as indicated in the calendar, showcasing my commitment and organizational skills.
Supporting Contributions:
In terms of leadership, I took on significant responsibility within my base group and the course. I actively contributed to my own learning and that of my colleagues by participating in all activities and forums. My postings were timely, allowing others to engage with and respond to them, and they reflected a breadth and depth of thinking, often supported by research and cited using APA format. Moreover, I made additional postings that were not research-based but aimed at enriching the learning experience of my peers. By sharing insights, asking thought-provoking questions, and offering encouragement, I contributed to creating a dynamic and engaging learning community.
Reflection on Revisions:
The process of revising my assignments has been instrumental in my growth as a self-directed learner. The feedback I received on my Planning the Alternative PL assignment was particularly impactful. Initially, my plan focused narrowly on math stations, but after reflecting on the feedforward, I realized the importance of a more holistic approach. The revised plan now includes LMS integration, effective use of math stations, and the incorporation of technology. This comprehensive approach not only enhances the learning experience but also prepares students for a technologically advanced world.
Contributions to My Learning and the Learning Community:
Reflecting on my journey, I can confidently say that my contributions have significantly impacted both my learning and the learning community. By actively engaging with course materials, participating in discussions, and offering constructive feedback, I have not only enhanced my own understanding but also supported my peers in their learning journeys.
My base group community member is Marche Lee. We’ve done several Zoom meetings, texted, called, and provided feedforward on each other’s learning activities. This collaboration has been instrumental in refining our approaches and enhancing the quality of our work. To improve, I could have reached out to other group members to consistently collaborate with.
In summary, my commitment to continuous improvement, active participation, and thoughtful contributions justify a score of 92 out of 100. I am proud of the progress I have made and look forward to continuing my journey as a self-directed, lifelong learner.
Thank you for considering my self-assessment. I look forward to receiving any further feedback to continue my growth.
