Somewhere between all of that, it hit me. I’ve been living on the opposite end of the traditional schooling spectrum long enough to see the gap. Teachers who homeschool. Non‑teachers who homeschool. Two different worlds trying to do the same job with wildly different toolkits.

Let me start with this: Transitioning from being a classroom teacher to a homeschool mom was not a gentle, graceful pivot. It was not a “calling.” It was not a peaceful, faith‑filled moment where I said, “Yes, Lord, I will shepherd my children’s hearts.” No. Mind you, I'm a secular homeschooler. It was like getting thrown in front of a bus. A big one. With no warning. And definitely no seatbelt. One minute I was a math interventionist with data binders.....

There are days in our homeschool where it genuinely feels like my ADHD and my kids’ ADHD have formed a strategic alliance. Not against me in a villainous way — more like a chaotic WWE tag‑team situation where nobody knows the rules and the referee left early.
